Diagnostic SolutionsOn-Board and Off-Board Diagnostics Development
Since 1992, Accutest has been recognised as leading the field in the implementation of diagnostics led solutions. Accutest has been a working member of the leading standards committee- the International Working Group for ISO and SAE Standards for Diagnostics, setting the international standards for On-Board Diagnostics (OBD and OBDII and EOBD). This close involvement with the standards group has led to an unparalleled understanding of the technical aspects - and of the application of these standards to the provision of effective diagnostics in application. The Diagnostics Solutions Group is involved in providing cost effective and innovative solutions for established customers in the Automotive, Van, LCV and HGV, Off - Highway and Hybrid Vehicle Sectors. A range of Interfaces for on-board and off-board applications have been developed using the Accutest Vehicle Gateway (AVG) as a generic hardware platform.
Accutest solutions are designed to be ‘portable' between the disciplines involved in the life-cycle of the vehicle, from design and development, through to manufacturing and in-service applications. One area of this technology is in the provision of remote diagnostics and telematics, and Accutest identified this emerging technology as the way forward. The company has a team dedicated to this area, constantly developing new techniques to take advantage of the benefits of this technology in the solutions we offer. Benefits of using Accutest:
Flexible and Cost EffectiveAccutest has developed a range of network interface modules allowing gateway connection to a variety of CAN/LIN/K-line networks. Different Accutest Vehicle Gateway (AVG) modules allow bi-directional CAN-CAN, CAN-LIN, CAN-K-line gateway functionality with simultaneous logging of all network data to Compact Flash and PC via the USB 1.1 interface. The on-going development programme has proven the AVG for on-board and off-board data-logging and as a diagnostics interface for Scan Tool applications. The real time logging capability of AVG makes it an ideal tool for analysing intermittent data faults in development vehicles and for in service applications. Successful solutions have been delivered to many of the worlds largest OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Accutest maintains its position as an approved 3rd Party Diagnostics Test House for Ford Motor Company, involving the company in the testing of Diagnostic software for Siemens GmbH, TRW, Visteon and others. ExperienceAccutest has unrivalled experience of delivering effective and efficient solutions including:
DeliveryKnowledge of and proven application of all protocols ensures that all projects will deliver the required results. These protocols include:
Short term or long term projects, using dedicated or outsourced resources, can be integrated with existing projects to ensure that diagnostic solutions can be applied to all areas of manufacturing from design and development, through to manufacturing and in-service applications.

The development of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) over the last few years has enabled external test equipment to access diagnostic trouble codes and parametric data in real-time via the multiplex networks on the vehicle. Accutest has added value to this by developing database-driven diagnostic software to access this data over the selected network, ensuring forward compatibility with future network implementations.
