Telematics - New Product Launch - CANbus TelematicsAccutest Ltd, specialists in vehicle CANbus systems, announces the launch of AccuSCAN, a unique new product which allows data from virtually all vehicle engine management and diagnostic systems to be transmitted to any back office fleet management or vehicle tracking system. The product, which is being integrated to leading AVL platforms, is a major advance in the ability to deliver data from fleets of mixed vehicle types, including trucks, buses, cars and car-derived vans. AccuSCAN data can be used to monitor fleet performance and condition, to save fuel, reduce CO2 emissions, change driver behaviour, improve safety, and reduce vehicle maintenance costs. Accutest works with all leading vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers on vehicle CANbus development and have a unique knowledge of current and future specifications across virtually all vehicle types as well as in aerospace, marine, industrial plant and machinery. Managing Director, Ken Scott believes that the technical issues faced by AVL providers who have attempted to deliver data from the standard CANbus FMS systems on HGV's has justified the launch of AccuSCAN. "There are many different vehicle software protocols in use today and as the pressures build on fleet managers to reduce costs, and with carbon tax and low emission zoning around the corner, the industry needs a solution for all vehicle types from a company that really understands what is going on in vehicle software systems". The data available from AccuSCAN is summarised below:Driver styleVehicle speed, RPM, throttle position, gear, brakes, idle, cruise, fuel economy. Fuel usageInstantaneous fuel consumption, trip average fuel consumption, fuel level Carbon footprintCO2 emissions Vehicle conditionTrue odometer mileage, engine hours, service indicator, diagnostics, axle weight ApplicationsCurrent applications that benefit from the data include all AVL tracking and fleet management systems, driver league tables and profiling solutions, and comparative vehicle performance applications. Custom application data can also be made available with AccuSCAN. Future applications that will need the data include vehicle prognostics, new insurance products, carbon tax systems, and personal vehicle management applications. |
